The Armstrong Powerhouse presents its fourth product; an MTU sound pack for the Class 43 supplied with Rail Simulator.
All First Great Western class 43s have these engines and soon so will National Express East Coast's and Arriva Cross Country's. The sounds will be aliased automatically to the First Great Western MTU model supplied with Rail Simulator.
These sounds were professionally recorded from behind 43161, a First Great Western example, which include the bassy throb at full throttle and authentic start-up/shutdown sounds as well as more. Also, a brand new horn is included which is controlled by how long you hold down the space bar. During the installation process, the horn will also install into your default Class 43 sounds. Below is a video demonstrating the sounds. For copyright reasons, the sound quality is not as good as in game but it should give a good indication of this product:
Finally, if you didn't think that was enough, a high-quality scenario for the Paddington to Oxford route is included for you to test the sounds out on. This scenario has all trains from the May - December 2008 Working Timetable implemented and are named with headcode, origin and destination so you can see where the train has come from! Due to the realistic nature of this scenario, it is quite resource intensive so please bear this in mind when running it.
This add-on is supplied in download format only.
