The Armstrong Powerhouse presents a Class 166 Sound Pack for the Class 166 supplied with Rail Simulator.
These sounds were professionally recorded from a variety of Class 165s which have the same engines as the Class 166 so sound identical. They feature authentic class 166 rev-up, rev-down sounds, a new idle and engine power sounds as well as bogie sounds so it actually sounds like you are moving! During the installation process, these sounds will be applied to all Class 166s supplied in the default Rail Simulator installation. Below is a video demonstrating the sounds:
As well the sounds, a high-quality scenario for the Paddington to Oxford route is included with a duration of around 60 minutes so you can test the sounds out. This scenario has all trains from the May - December 2008 Working Timetable implemented and are named with headcode, origin and destination so you can see where the train has come from! The scenario itself is based in mid-2007 so you will see a variety of refurbished and un-refurbished HSTs.
