Since their introduction in 1987, these tank wagons have carried a wide variety of product.

The oil tank variant of this wagon has often be seen in mixed consists with other tank wagons such as the TDA-D. In recent years, almost exclusively on workings out of Robeston, Wales.

The acid tank variant is no longer in service and was most recently used in the late 1990s/2000s/early 2010s on workings between Runcorn/Sandbach & Sellafield, loaded with caustic soda/nitric acid. Before that, other uses included carrying acrylonitrile between Immingham and Barry Docks, as well as a short-lived flow for Cerestar from Trafford Park to France, loaded with corn steep liquor.
